After listening to the exercise I was really surprised. I became more focused and calm. I felt refreshed and ready to face whatever came next. Since I have been using the loving kindness exercise and meditation my days seem to be less stressful. I seem more organized and less frazzled due to the overwhelming activity with my family. By applying these practices to my life I feel physically and mentally better. My blood pressure does not seem to go up when I get a little upset and really I think I am sleeping better or at least more restfully.
I really love this saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” I find this statement adamantly true. Every day people comment on the bad things that other people do or how people act or just their way of life. What right do we have to do this unless we have walked the same path? I feel that we do not have the right. For example helping an alcoholic to recover. Who is more qualified to help an alcoholic than another alcoholic that has recovered or is still recovering? That is what this statement means. That is why AA was organized. It has been proven that people who have recovered, experienced and lived with similar issues are the most capable of helping those in the same need.

Hi Sherri
Happy New Year! I hope this new year brings you happiness and prosperity. I know that I plan to practice my mindfulness exercises as much as possible. They seem to bring me to a more peaceful level. Here are some inspirational sayings that might help you when you are down:
Remember, whatever game you play, 90 percent of success is from the shoulders up.
Arnold Palmer’s Father
The price of greatness is responsibility.
Winston Churchill
It is a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.
Somerset Maugham
There is no security in this life. There is only opportunity.
Douglas MacArthur
All that you achieve and all that you fail to achieve is the direct result of your own thoughts.
James Allen
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Thomas Edison
Men are born to succeed, not to fail.
Henry David Thoreau
The real secret of success is enthusiasm.
Walter Chrysler
Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
That is so true only someone that has been where that person is at can only help that person overcome..it lets you know that you are not alone. When I am experiencing something and talk to someone going through it too I am less anxious and peaceful.

I also found this exercise to be very relaxing and it allowed me to focus my thoughts to
where I was thinking nothing but positive thoughts... If I use this exercise several times a week, I think that I will be able to maintain a consistent stress free lifestyle and be able to increase my mental ability and the way I think.
It is true that in order for us, especially as wellness professionals, to properly teach our clients how to gain integral health, we must first walk that long and lonely path ourselves. If our clients know that we have been in their shoes, then they will respond in a more favorable manner to our teachings and what we have to say.
